The first A&B International Student Conference “Global Demographic Challenges and Sustainable Development Goals” will take place in IAE Annecy on April 4-5, 2024.

The conference is jointly organized by IAE University of Savoy Mont Blanc (France) and Birmingham Business School, University of Birmingham (United Kingdom).
“Global Demographic Challenges and Sustainable Development Goals”:

“Demography is destiny” (A. Comte) … The phrase highlights the role of demographics in shaping many complex challenges and opportunities societies face, including several pertinent to economic growth and development but not only.

 

Global challenges stemming from demographic trends have far-reaching implications for societies, economies, and governments worldwide.

Practical Information for Participants

Travel to Annecy:

If you decide to fly to France, Geneva and Lyon are the closest airports.

We advise non-European students who are arriving by plane in Switzerland to check with the Swiss authorities on formalities for transiting to France through Switzerland.

Coach shuttles (Flexbus) connect these two airports to Annecy (information and booking online). Think to book your tickets as earlier as possible!

Whether you travel by plane or not, Annecy is well served by the high-speed rail services (TGV) from Paris (from the main Paris airport “Roissy Charles de Gaulle” or from the Parisian train station “Gare de Lyon”.

How to get to the Campus

lnstitute of Business Administration (IAE), University of Savoie Mont Blanc (https://www.iae.univ-smb.fr/en) is situated on a hillside overlooking Annecy and its lake (take SIBRA bus n° 1 or 4). The price of a single ticket is 1,50 euros.

Please note that you cannot use your credit card to pay your bus ticket. You can buy your ticket by using cash or e-tickets that you can buy via SIBRA application (in French).  For more information, please see “Some useful information for your stay in Annecy).

 

 

Some additional information:


    - There is no ATM machine on Campus. Please think to withdraw so cash next to your hotel.
    - IAE is situated on the hill. So, if you wish to come by bike, think to rent an electric bike.
    - There is no Prayer room at IAE.
    - Think to take travel adaptor in order to plug any UK electrical appliance into a foreign electrical socket (we do not have them at IAE).
